What's
New in 4-H
We Have a New Name & Logo
Texas AgriLife Extension Service is the new name of Texas Cooperative Extension
which provides Texans in all 254 counties with objective, research-based educational
programs and services in agriculture and natural resources, 4-H and youth development,
family and consumer sciences, and comunity economic development. AgriLife Extension
provides Texans with continuing education programs and services. More than 900
professional educators team with some 90,000 volunteers to serve families, youth,
communities and businesses throughout the state. Some 600,000 children annually
participate in Extension's 4-H and youth development programs.
Blue Bell Ice Cream & 4-H
Blue Bell Ice Cream has come out with a new flavor in recognition of the Texas

4-H clovers sprinkled throughout the ice cream. Royalties on each carton sold
will be earmarked for Texas 4-H.

4-H Materials
As our new 4-H year begins, we wanted to be sure that ALL families have the following handouts to have a successful 4-H year:
Newcomer’s Handbook -on the 4-H website
Awards and Recognition Handbook -on the 4-H website
Recordbook Information -on the 4-H website
Bexar County Junior Livestock Show Rules -on the 4-H website
Texas 4-H Clover Opportunities Handbook - on the 4-H website.
At the Club Manager training in August, each Club Manager was given a CD with the above materials. Please contact your Club Manager for a copy of the CD or visit our website if you need any of these materials.
Newsletter Information
When we compile the newsletter articles, we have room for only the basic information. There is no way we could put all the detailed information on each article or the newsletter would be 20 pages long. We want to make the newsletter as informative as possible, but not to lengthy. If you need more information or have any questions on any article, please give our office a call or visit our website.
Texas 4-H Clover Handbook
Clover Handbook is now available, go to texas4-h.tamu.edu/clover to print your copy.
