Service Opportunities
100 Pennies for 100 Years
The Texas 4-H and Youth Development
Program will celebrate our 4-H 100th Anniversary beginning September 1, 2007.
Bexar County 4-H Council Officers selected this idea as our first community
service opportunity. You can bring your pennies to any event 4-H has scheduled.
Let's Say "Thanks!"
Saying "Thanks!" to our
members of the armed services. Visit
www.letssaythanks.com where you pick out an on-line thank-you card, enter
your personal message, and Xerox will send it to a soldier. You can't pick who
gets the card, but it will be sent to a soldier serving in Iraq.
Birthday Party in a Shoebox
Collect items such as cake mixes, candles, balloons, everything that would be included for a birthday party. Decorate your shoebox by wrapping the top and bottom separately. These boxes can be distributed to shelters for youth and senior citizens and others who may have been forgotten on their special day. For more information and a suggested list of items to include in the box, check out the flyer.
Bexar County 4-H Outreach Recycling Fundraiser
The 4-H Outreach Program has an exciting fundraising effort. 4-H Outreach clubs are collecting empty inkjet, laser, copier, and fax toner cartridges for recycling and earn money at the same time. They invite you to donate your ink cartridges and help protect our environment and assist in the fundraising needs of the 4-H Outreach Program. You can drop your ink cartridges off at the Bexar County 4-H Office.
Promote 4-H...We Need You!
Teachers, counselors, or school employees...we need your help to promote 4-H by handing out brochures at your school. Anyone else that will be attending a function where youth will be involved, we also need you. If you can help, please let us know how many brochures you will need and when.
